Managing Broker – Auctioneer
With over 45 years of experience, Dick specializes in land sales and trades, and has sold over 40,000 acres, commercial and residential real estate sales, farm machinery auctions, farm land auctions, as well as estate and household auctions. Over the years, he has gained many contacts with other people in these various businesses, so he is always up-to-date on the current values. Being involved in Real Estate sales full-time also gives him a current knowledge of land, residential and commercial values. The Real Estate office consistently sells 2,000 or more acres of land each year and has conducted many Land Auctions over the past several years.
Dick was born and raised on a farm in Morris, IL. He owned and managed his own farming operation for 28 years, farming approximately 1,800 acres annually. He graduated from Reppert Auction School in 1968 and obtained his Real Estate License in 1989. Having sold his farming business in 1995, Dick was then able to concentrate on his real estate, auction and land valuation business.
As an auctioneer since 1968, Dick has sold many millions of dollars’ worth of farm machinery, real estate and personal property. He also served on the Grundy County Board for 10 years—involved in all aspects of the business of keeping a county operating. First elected in 1992, he decided not to run for a 4th term in order to devote more time to his clients. He also served on the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board from 1997 through 2002.
